Do these issues sound familiar?

  • Differences in sexual desire that lead to feelings of pressure, rejection, and obligation;
  • Embarrassment surrounding sexual performance;
  • Changes in sexual desire with age and/or health related concerns;
  • Knowing that sex and intimacy are challenges in your relationship but not knowing how to talk about it;
  • Struggling to fully experience pleasure due to a history of religious and/or sexual trauma;
  • Having a physically affectionate relationship with little erotic intimacy;
  • Desiring greater physical intimacy outside of a sexual relationship;
  • Curiosity about exploring consensual non-monogamy

Sometimes better communication and closeness improves sexual intimacy, but often sexual issues exist independently of other relationship issues.  It is normal to have both a loving and close relationship and have limited or pressure-ridden sexual intimacy.  Through advanced training with the Institute for Relational Intimacy, Abby works with couples to problem solve their sexual concerns and find creative ways to reduce tension around sex while increasing intimacy, eroticism, and playfulness.
